$300 Ultra Shield Warranty Scam

I paid nearly $300 for a 10 year warranty for my furniture from this company. Even though I followed the application instructions, kept all necessary documentation and contacted them immediately to file my claim, my claim was denied.

The companies position on the matter changed from me not applying the product correctly to the furniture having a "manufacturer defect" to the furniture material not being covered under their warranty.

After months of getting the run around from Ultra Shield I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau only to find out that Ultra Shield hadn't become a member of the BBB until after the initial purchase of my furniture and their warranty therefore the BBB could not support me in litigation. I was, however, advised that the Attorney General Office in the State of Kentucky has a consumer rights and protection division that may pursue matters such as this if multiple similar complaints are filed with the BBB and brought to the attention of the Attorney General.

If you have had a negative experience with Ultra Shield, I urge you to file a complaint with both the BBB and the Attorney General Office of Kentucky. Companies like Ultra Shield should not be allowed to take advantage of consumers and get away with it.

Ultra Shield Protection Plan Has Zero Value

I was talked into this plan by Darvin furniture sales person because I bought a cream colored leather sectional. I called for the very 1st time today and because I had a few small ink marks, not just one, it does not fall under warranty.

The customer service reps sound like robots so when both of them said, "I am sorry you feel that way", it was insincere and made me even angrier. The reality is that they ask you questions in order to find a way to invalidate your warranty coverage.

What would have helped is if they gave a solution!

I also had ultra shield for my leather furniture through Darvin. When they denied my first claim I took them to small claims court and recieved new furniture.

TAKE THEM TO COURT THE COMPANY IS A SCAM! :(

I too called Ultra about a small repair on my sofa. YES they do ask the questions in a certain order and then put you on hold.

Once they come back, they are so sorry but the issue is not covered. What a waste.

I totally agree, the company is a scam!!!!! I tried to file a complaint on my furniture I purchased 2 years ago.

They rejected the claim because I didn't call within 5 days.

They always seem to find a reason why they will not cover the claim. It has ZERO value.........

Don't purchase Ultra Shield fabric protection

I recently purchased new living room furniture. The local furniture retailer promoted treating the fabric with a stain protection chemical and insurance package from Ultra Shield. I have purchased fabric protection from other companies in the past and have been satisfied with the results.

Ultra Shield is a different matter, their customer service and response ***. Shortly after receiving the new furniture, I let my wet (water) pant leg come in contact with the ottoman, which left a wet spot. I wasn't concerned at the time, thinking since it was just water it would dry without incident. But once the area did dry, it left a water stain or ring on the fabric. I pulled out my warranty card with Ultra Shield and read that "any food or drink consumed by humans was covered". I called customer service and explained the accident to them, and was immediately told that since the water came from my pant leg, and not a glass, it was not covered. I could not believe what I was hearing, when I chalenged the person on this response I was again told sorry, no coverage.

I contacted the local Stanley Steamer cleaning company, explained the problem to them, and they cleaned the ottoman no problem, and only charged me $20. Stanley Steamer also informed me that they do contract work Ultra Shield and have a hard time getting paid, and they won't return phone calls.I called Ultra Shield back a second time requesting reimbursement for the cleaning fee and was told "sorry Charlie" again. I then asked to speak to supervisor and was connected to a voice mail box for Margret. I left a detailed message about the incident and requested a return phone call, which I never received.

These people just want your money and have no intention of providing any restoration service. This was just water, what if I had a real stain like coffee or wine? If I purchase furniture again, I will not be "donating" to Ultra Shield, they are worthless scamers.

I agree do not buy this protection. It is a total waste of $$$

Not only that they are extremely difficult to contact.

When i finally reached them I spoke to 4 people only to find out it is not covered because I do not know what caused the stain.

Me to, I have call them several times to take care of some damages on my forniture and evary time I call they're hang on me. Some one needs to stop that fraud..

Yes!!!!! They are a total scam.

My child had chocolate on his fingers and got it on a few pieces of my sectional.

They told me no coverage because it was on mulitple pieces.....ummm....WHAT!!????? scammers.

I have to agree with everyone that they are a rip off. In June my cat had an accident while on my lap. I used an enzyme product for cats. When I called I was told that was exactly the product they would have recommended and since it didn't work they would send someone out to clean it. They called and made an appointment for July. When they didn't show, I was told that the contractor's website said they tried to call several times and got no response. When I said that there were no messages on my machine, the Ultra Shield agent said "Their website says they did try calling."

The contractor made an appointment for August. I had yet to receive the call ahead of time to let me know a 3 hour time frame of when they'd show. But I waited until after 6 o'clock to put my cat to sleep since I didn't want to void my warranty by "not being there" :roll yet again. UltraShield didn't try to offer excuses this time.

I have an appointment for the contractor to clean the recliner tomorrow. They were supposed to call 2 days prior to give me a time frame of when they'd show. They didn't. I'm not holding my breath that they'll show!

I just got off the phone with Ultra Shield and I am PISSSSEEEDDDD OFFFFFFFF. I purchased a 10 Year Premium Full Replacement warranty form this place and the warranty and the company/people are rip off's.

The refused to take my claim even though I paid for the warranty. It seem like nothing you tell them is approved. Beth and Samanth are both hepless and RUDE. Beth even hung up the phone on me because I told her I was going to report this to the Bad Business Burea like how professional.

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PROTECTION FROM THIS COMPANY. It's funny the furniture store told me they no longer do business with Ultra Shield because they give customers a hard time for their claims.

I bought the coverage from Ultra Shield Aug 2011 when I bought my new furniture. Someone had burnt *** in my sofa which is suppose to be covered.

I called in May 2012 and to this day I have not had my furniture fixed after several phone calls and talking to several people and it is now Sept.

I am not happy I feel I have been ripped off and I will never ever buy this product again. They do not stand behind their word what so ever ..

My son wet on our couch last night so I pulled out my warranty and that is covered. I called the furniture company thinking I only had to take the covers there but no, they said I had to contact Ultra Shield and they deal with it.

After numerous attempts by me and the furniture dealer during which a recording told us that we could not be connected to that number as dialed, the furniture salesman suggested that I go to their website.

I was logging on to do that when I came upon this site. Now you all have me scared!

So I told them that is what happened b/c I was told by someone you have to know or it wont be covered after all the explenation to her she told me it did not cover pets!!! I called wgandr b/c I was told as was alot of my friends who have this that is covered everything including kids pets friends whatever!!! so now if I ever have anything wrong with this one cushion they will not cover anything else on it! probably b/c I told her on the phone I was going to cut *** in it and then she could cover me!

Biggest waste of money!! I just hung up with Ultra Sheid due to a rip in my sofa cushion and guess what?

Yup your right claim denied. Was told to contact the store in which i bought it, so I did and was told for $50.00 they would send me a replacement casing for the cushion! So now, not only will I never deal with ultra Sheild, I will no longer do business with WG&R Furniture in Appleton WI. I have bought all my furnishings from them for the last 13 years and this is what I get?

WG&R should replace the casing for free since I have given them so mush business in the past. Now I understand why there is no customer loyalty anymore. By the way, the furniture was made by Coranthian, its less then two years of and already threadbare.

Not at all impressed with this brand, you might think twice in the future if your looking at furniture. Utterly Disgusted with all three companies!

Ultra Shield charged me for technician bill

Ridiculous!!!!! This company is such a scam!!! Actually sent me a bill for the technician they sent out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's how it goes. You call your claim in and they use trapping techniques to get you to say something that disqualifies you from relieving a claim... i.e. "was the scratch on the surface or beneath the surface?"

After numerous questions like this they get to the end and say something like this- "thank you for your time, but because you stated X to question #34, you are denied a claim."

After learning their system, I filed a different claim on a different problem with my furniture. This one I passed! However, after the technician came out and fixed it, they sent me a bill for the repair costs and stated I reported false information.

Ashley furniture luckily is giving me a prorated refund of my warranty. Im still filing a report with the better business bureau...

Please dont buy ultra shield leather protection. I bought furniture in Diamond furniture.

They asked me to buy the leather protection.now the leather is going away.

when I called the ultra sound the lady asked me several question and finally she said that it will not cover. so my advice is not to buy the leather protection from ultrasound.

Ultra Shied did not help me.

Ultria Shield has been no help to me. When you call you get a voice mail that tells me they will call me back in 48 to 72 hours. It has been 5 days from the last message I left with no return call.

When and if you get a real person all they do is say I can tell you have not taken care of you furniture. You have not ordered our cleaning product so you could not possible be taking care of your furniture. Your warranty is void. I guess they are the only people in the world who provide leather care products.

We called and called the store they got one of there service men to come out. We were told it was defective but the one one year warranty is over. They called and called and got a ultra shield tech. out at last. He told us it was a factory defect and would have them call us in 2 or 3 days. He even told us that he could see that we had taken care of the furniture as everything else in our home is in excellent condition. They called 3 weeks later and told us it is not covered.

I will never buy anything from ultra shield. I would rather use my money for toilet paper than buy someting from them. At least it would be useful as toilet paper.

I agree with the below post. If you purchase a leather warranty and were given the companies products along with the plan.

What makes you think that such company would warranty the products you have been buying from walmart? I'm just saying maybe you need to be calling Pledge.

If everyone is complaining about this protection company why use false names? Is it because if your claim was as simple as you say shouldn't this company have a chance to respond to the complaint?

I have researched this company and found that they have an A+ rating with the BBB. So they must be doing something right.

My company has to provide all proof on a complaint with the BBB, so maybe you didn't read the coverage and just mad at the fact that as a consumer you were not responsible in asking questions or reading your warranty. And by the way...Who in their right minds would believe a salesman?

I myself purchased the warranty out of lazboy furniture in orlando florida. I called and reported my jello stain and was sent out Amodex the product worked so good they did not have to send someone out.

I am now using Amodex for my laundry carpet and ink stains. Thank you Ultrashield!!

Weekends only and ultra shield fabric protection

do not buy this ultra sheild fabric protection from any company that is selling it. THIEFS.......

i bought a sofa and loveseat from weekends only and also bought the lifetime ultra shield warranty to cover stains/tears. it got an accidental small tear. ultra shiled refused to repair.i also made a BBB claim but ultra shield still refused to fix.

their customer service twists words around, or wont call back in order for them not to pay.

DO NOT BUY FROM ULTRA SHILED....WE NEED TO MAKE THEM GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT BUY...SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIEFS

rules of life. This warranty doesn't cover much, but I feel that for my family and I this is a good investment. I have read the warranty card and I do see Ultra Shield is a service for any accidents that I may have, not a cleaning service. O and they don't cover everything for those who think it's an insurance it's not.

It is a limited extended warranty. Please keep our few American base businesses in business.

Do not buy anything from YLTRA SHIELD FABRIC WARRANTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this will be short a sweet....i bought furniture, sofa and loveseat from weekends only and also bought the lifetime fabric warranty through ultra shield-jody chemicals. of course i ended up with an accidental tear and ultra shield would nor replace or repair item even though their warranty says it does.i even filed a bbb complaint with them.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ULTRA SHIELD.........They are scamming people out of money!!!!!!!!!!

Therr customer service doesnt return calls, twists words around so they dont have to pay .

Ultra Shield does not warranty against tears, fire or sun damage.

Being able to remove spots and stains easily is their warranty. Teflon and Scotchgard offer similar fabric protection warranties.

Leather peeling

Noticed what looked like spots on arm of leather sofa Reported it to Ultra shield Multie. Not one response.

I just noticed today leather on the sofas arm is peeling !Called again Ultra Shield Put on hold I hung up & went on this sight .Found out I'm not alone. Husband & I are Seniors and this furniture was suppose to last us for a long time It is only me & husband Called the Manager of Ashley told him I was calling Better Business Bura & my lawyer also small clames .I don't have time to play around with him .Loraine Famille
