$300 Ultra Shield Warranty Scam
I paid nearly $300 for a 10 year warranty for my furniture from this company. Even though I followed the application instructions, kept all necessary documentation and contacted them immediately to file my claim, my claim was denied.
The companies position on the matter changed from me not applying the product correctly to the furniture having a "manufacturer defect" to the furniture material not being covered under their warranty.
After months of getting the run around from Ultra Shield I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau only to find out that Ultra Shield hadn't become a member of the BBB until after the initial purchase of my furniture and their warranty therefore the BBB could not support me in litigation. I was, however, advised that the Attorney General Office in the State of Kentucky has a consumer rights and protection division that may pursue matters such as this if multiple similar complaints are filed with the BBB and brought to the attention of the Attorney General.
If you have had a negative experience with Ultra Shield, I urge you to file a complaint with both the BBB and the Attorney General Office of Kentucky. Companies like Ultra Shield should not be allowed to take advantage of consumers and get away with it.

Ultra Shield Protection Plan Has Zero Value
I was talked into this plan by Darvin furniture sales person because I bought a cream colored leather sectional. I called for the very 1st time today and because I had a few small ink marks, not just one, it does not fall under warranty.
The customer service reps sound like robots so when both of them said, "I am sorry you feel that way", it was insincere and made me even angrier. The reality is that they ask you questions in order to find a way to invalidate your warranty coverage.
What would have helped is if they gave a solution!
Don't purchase Ultra Shield fabric protection
I recently purchased new living room furniture. The local furniture retailer promoted treating the fabric with a stain protection chemical and insurance package from Ultra Shield. I have purchased fabric protection from other companies in the past and have been satisfied with the results.
Ultra Shield is a different matter, their customer service and response ***. Shortly after receiving the new furniture, I let my wet (water) pant leg come in contact with the ottoman, which left a wet spot. I wasn't concerned at the time, thinking since it was just water it would dry without incident. But once the area did dry, it left a water stain or ring on the fabric. I pulled out my warranty card with Ultra Shield and read that "any food or drink consumed by humans was covered". I called customer service and explained the accident to them, and was immediately told that since the water came from my pant leg, and not a glass, it was not covered. I could not believe what I was hearing, when I chalenged the person on this response I was again told sorry, no coverage.
I contacted the local Stanley Steamer cleaning company, explained the problem to them, and they cleaned the ottoman no problem, and only charged me $20. Stanley Steamer also informed me that they do contract work Ultra Shield and have a hard time getting paid, and they won't return phone calls.I called Ultra Shield back a second time requesting reimbursement for the cleaning fee and was told "sorry Charlie" again. I then asked to speak to supervisor and was connected to a voice mail box for Margret. I left a detailed message about the incident and requested a return phone call, which I never received.
These people just want your money and have no intention of providing any restoration service. This was just water, what if I had a real stain like coffee or wine? If I purchase furniture again, I will not be "donating" to Ultra Shield, they are worthless scamers.
Ultra Shield charged me for technician bill
Ridiculous!!!!! This company is such a scam!!! Actually sent me a bill for the technician they sent out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's how it goes. You call your claim in and they use trapping techniques to get you to say something that disqualifies you from relieving a claim... i.e. "was the scratch on the surface or beneath the surface?"
After numerous questions like this they get to the end and say something like this- "thank you for your time, but because you stated X to question #34, you are denied a claim."
After learning their system, I filed a different claim on a different problem with my furniture. This one I passed! However, after the technician came out and fixed it, they sent me a bill for the repair costs and stated I reported false information.
Ashley furniture luckily is giving me a prorated refund of my warranty. Im still filing a report with the better business bureau...
Ultra Shied did not help me.
Ultria Shield has been no help to me. When you call you get a voice mail that tells me they will call me back in 48 to 72 hours. It has been 5 days from the last message I left with no return call.
When and if you get a real person all they do is say I can tell you have not taken care of you furniture. You have not ordered our cleaning product so you could not possible be taking care of your furniture. Your warranty is void. I guess they are the only people in the world who provide leather care products.
We called and called the store they got one of there service men to come out. We were told it was defective but the one one year warranty is over. They called and called and got a ultra shield tech. out at last. He told us it was a factory defect and would have them call us in 2 or 3 days. He even told us that he could see that we had taken care of the furniture as everything else in our home is in excellent condition. They called 3 weeks later and told us it is not covered.
I will never buy anything from ultra shield. I would rather use my money for toilet paper than buy someting from them. At least it would be useful as toilet paper.

do not buy this ultra sheild fabric protection from any company that is selling it. THIEFS.......
i bought a sofa and loveseat from weekends only and also bought the lifetime ultra shield warranty to cover stains/tears. it got an accidental small tear. ultra shiled refused to repair.i also made a BBB claim but ultra shield still refused to fix.
their customer service twists words around, or wont call back in order for them not to pay.
DO NOT BUY FROM ULTRA SHILED....WE NEED TO MAKE THEM GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

this will be short a sweet....i bought furniture, sofa and loveseat from weekends only and also bought the lifetime fabric warranty through ultra shield-jody chemicals. of course i ended up with an accidental tear and ultra shield would nor replace or repair item even though their warranty says it does.i even filed a bbb complaint with them.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ULTRA SHIELD.........They are scamming people out of money!!!!!!!!!!
Therr customer service doesnt return calls, twists words around so they dont have to pay .

Leather peeling
Noticed what looked like spots on arm of leather sofa Reported it to Ultra shield Multie. Not one response.
I just noticed today leather on the sofas arm is peeling !Called again Ultra Shield Put on hold I hung up & went on this sight .Found out I'm not alone. Husband & I are Seniors and this furniture was suppose to last us for a long time It is only me & husband Called the Manager of Ashley told him I was calling Better Business Bura & my lawyer also small clames .I don't have time to play around with him .Loraine Famille

I also had ultra shield for my leather furniture through Darvin. When they denied my first claim I took them to small claims court and recieved new furniture.
TAKE THEM TO COURT THE COMPANY IS A SCAM! :(
I too called Ultra about a small repair on my sofa. YES they do ask the questions in a certain order and then put you on hold.
Once they come back, they are so sorry but the issue is not covered. What a waste.
I totally agree, the company is a scam!!!!! I tried to file a complaint on my furniture I purchased 2 years ago.
They rejected the claim because I didn't call within 5 days.
They always seem to find a reason why they will not cover the claim. It has ZERO value.........
